Having Both Genders and Having New Personalities
Both Genders in the Internal Voice
People with DID or OSDD can have multiple internal voices that they don’t recognize as other. This happens when alters pretend to be the main personality to manipulate them into doing what they want and also to covertly help the main personality. The person then can have what they think to be both genders as their inner voice.
Both Genders in the Body Map
Body maps of both women and men can occur in the same body of someone who is co-fronting with multiple genders. This is probably similar to someone who is bi-gender or gender fluid or even two-spirit if they are First Nations. If one personality is very dominant and in control then the gender map is theirs.
New Personality Maturity Level
When new personalities are continuously created to be the host, the main personality doesn't get the chance to develop the life experience of a normal person. They may find more comfort in being more childlike than a regular person and be drawn to people who are also more childlike.
For Me:
I have a multitude of voices on the inside, a mix of men and women. I have what I call "repeats" where alters try and recreate and act out past events that I don't have a memory of. Mostly they do fictional ones over and over again (which is why I call them that). I've also spent over 2 years dressed as a man because I had gender dysphoria from having a male host. Thankfully, I didn't transition or I would be in the wrong body for me and not the right body for any one of the personalities. As a new personality, I love reading texts my littles write and am unfortunately quite immature.
Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) is characterized by large gaps in memory where other "alters" or parts of the personality take control.
Other Specified Dissociative Disorder (OSDD) subtype 1 often shows up with parts who do not have memory loss.
Alters are the personalities other than the main one who runs the body. This may change over time as the main personality can change.
A body map is my words for what your body feels like it should be. A trans person would have a body map of the opposite sex.
Co-fronting is when more than one personality is controlling the body at once.
A host is the personality who is in control of the body the most.
Gender Dysphoria is when your gender identity doesn't match your sex.
Littles (or little ones) are child alters, alters who's maturity is stunted at the age they were living.
Identity alteration is the sense of being markedly different from another part of oneself.
Identity Disturbance is when a person's identity changes, whether that is their goals, beliefs, or actions.
